Airports for Private Charter Flights to/from Casper, Wyoming

While Casper–Natrona County International (CPR) is no aviation hub, security lines can be notoriously long for a small airport – flights to Denver and Salt Lake City are often scheduled at the same time, and only one security checkpoint becomes a choke point for all the traffic, making it seem like the airport could use a little CPR itself. All the more reason to fly private, with hassle-free arrivals/departures via Atlantic Aviation’s private FBO, and the freedom to fly to/from any destination you choose, on the date & time you decide.

Destinations > United States > Wyoming

A popular destination for business jet charters in the oil & mining industries, Casper is the financial and administrative center for a vast region of Wyoming, home to some of the state’s most important mineral producing areas, especially its nearby oil & gas fields.

What began as a settlement for travelers along the Oregon and California Trails became an important region once railroads and the discovery of oil in nearby fields arrived in Casper. In fact, many of the original signs left behind by the trails are visible and within walking distance of the city’s boundaries.

Today, Casper is the second largest city in Wyoming, after Cheyenne, and it’s the commercial hub for the central region of Wyoming, with an economy focused on energy and mineral extraction. It’s also the largest city between Cheyenne and Billings, and between Rapid City and Salt Lake City.

The city doesn’t offer much in terms of attractions and entertainment, but the real attractions lie in the areas surrounding Casper, including historical and natural sites, pristine preservation areas, and incredible landscapes. It was also a private jet hot-spot during the Great American Solar Eclipse in 2017.

Attractions within the city include Independence Rock, South Pass City, Ayre’s Bridge, and Castle Gardens, while the Thunder Basin National Grassland, Medicine Bow National Forest, and Bighorn National Forest are all within an hour’s drive of the city.

Despite not featuring all the cultural offerings of other frontier cities, Casper was named the highest-ranked family-friendly small city in the West, and ranked 8th overall as “best small city to raise a family” by Forbes in 2010.

Additional Airports

There is only one additional airport located within 50 nautical miles of Casper, Wyoming. Converse County Airport is located in Douglas, approximately 41 nautical miles east of the city, allowing for private jets to arrive half way between Capser and the Nebraska/Dakota border.
