The Longitude (Model 700) is derived from the Citation Latitude, stretching its fuselage cross-section to include an additional row of seats to accommodate 8 passengers in double cub seating. Along with a new swept wing and a T-tail design, Cessna created a long-range super mid capable of traveling up to 4,000 nmi, able to complete non-stop flights from New York to Paris at speeds up to Mach .86.

Aircraft Details

Announced at EBACE in 2012, the Cessna 700 Citation Longitude is a slightly larger version of the Citation Latitude (680a). This super mid completed its maiden flight in late 2016, and obtained its personal type certification from the FAA in late 2018.

The Longitude marks Cessna’s first foray into the super midsize market, after canceling their Citation Columbus (Model 850) back in 2009. The Cessna 700 offers room for 8 with a typical range of 3,500 nmi (up to 4,000 nmi for small groups), speeds up to Mach 0.86, and Garmin’s latest flight deck in the cockpit, the G5000 avionics system.

Initial deliveries will rollout in 2019, with NetJets being the largest recipient after making an agreement to acquire up to 175 Longitudes over the next 10-15 years.

Cabin

Cessna revisited the idea of a long-range super mid, utilizing a cabin measuring only 7″ shorter and 6″ narrower than their discontinued Citation Columbus project; the Columbus was set to be the largest jet in the Citation family, a title currently held by the 10 passenger Citation CJ4.

The Longitude’s 8 passenger flat-floor cabin measures over 31′ long, 6’5″ wide, and a standing room height of 6’0″ to deliver superior comfort and space. Fully berthable and adjustable club seats offer the most legroom in the super mid category. Cabin layouts may include 4 club seats and a three person divan.

All interior configurations include a walk-in baggage compartment that is easy to access during your entire flight, and there’s an additional 100 cubic feet of external baggage for your luggage, equipment, or golf clubs should you choose to bring them.

For long distance flights, a full-service galley features a convection oven and cold storage, and the aft lavatory includes a shower. The Clarity Cabin Management System, Cessna’s exclusive system for the Citation family, enables passengers to control their entertainment and environment from their mobile devices, while high-speed internet (where available) maximizes your productivity.

Performance

The Cessna Citation Longitude is powered by twin Honeywell engines, offering excellent fuel efficiency and noise-reduction to enhance your flight experience and reduce fuel consumption.

The HTF7000 turbofans give it the ability to depart from runways measuring as short as 3,580 feet, ideal for arriving at executive airports. Cruise speeds of 548 mph and a stop speed of 636 mph (Mach .86) make shirt work out of cross country routes in either direction.

The flight deck of this ultra modern business jet is fitted with the Garmin G5000 avionics with and touch-screen controls. Additional avionics include a TCAS terrain collision system; GPWS ground proximity warning system; Dual FMS with EFIS (4 screens); TAWS terrain awareness system; and Autopilot with GPS.
