Aircraft > Midsize Jets

Offering a unique combination of speed, size, and performance, Brazilian Aerospace manufacturer Embraer has created a mid-light jet that offers unmatched performance and capabilities within its segment.

While the Embraer Legacy 450 (EMB-545) is considered a midsize business jet, it offers range, size, and comfort well beyond many light and super light aircraft, while offering short runway performance and high cruise speeds most midsize jets can’t touch.

A shorter cabin version of the Legacy 600, the Legacy 450 accommodates up to 8 passengers in an ergonomically BMW designed cabin. The cabin features center club seats that recline into beds for long haul flights, and the flight deck includes advanced technologies and the only fully digital flight controls in its class.

Interior

The Legacy 450 business jet offers the highest cabin volume in its class, with a flat cabin floor and 6 feet of standing room height, a spacious interior width of 6 ft, 10 in; and a length of 22 ft 4 in. It also delivers a best-in-class cabin pressurization of 6,000 feet.

The interior is designed by BMW, and features center club seating that convert to flat beds, a belted seat lavatory with standard vacuum toilet, optional wet or dry galley, and the Honeywell Ovation Select Cabin Management. While the cabin is designed to comfortably seat 8 passengers, optional configurations may include a forward 2-place divan, a belted toilet and forward side facing seat, and other layouts to optimize space or increase capacity.

Flying private to your favorite golf or ski resort? Enjoy a total of 150 cubic feet of storage space for all of your belonging, including 40 cubic feet of internal storage that’s pressurized and heated, and easily accessible during your flight. The main exterior compartment offers 110 cubic feet of volume for all your equipment, clubs, and gear, with optional heating systems available.

Performance

The Embraer Legacy 450 midsize jet is powered by the same twin Honeywell HTF7500E turbofans found in the 500, providing 6,540 lbs of thrust each. When departing from near sea-level altitudes at its maximum take-off weight, it climbs to 43,000 feet in just 22 minutes, and soon reaches it’s maximum operational ceiling of 45,000 feet to avoid inclimate weather and traffic patterns.

Once it’s in the air, the aircraft can reach maximum speeds of 637 mph (Mach .83) to make short work out of domestic trips, and settles in with an average cruise speed of 531 mph (462 kts) for longer distance flights.

The Legacy 450 also offers excellent short field runway performance, requiring only 3,907 feet of runway for take-off and just 2,777 feet to land. In fact, the 450 was the first medium size jet to gain landing approval land at La Môle – Saint-Tropez Airport (LFTZ, LTT) back in April of 2016.

Ownership

Much like its predecessors, Embraer’s newest addition to its line-up of Legacy business jets is sure to become a popular choice for corporate flight groups and fractional jet programs, and an attractive option for individual ownership as they roll off the assembly line.

The Embraer Legacy 450 is the only jet in its class to replace conventional controls with full Fly-By-Wire technology, a system that offers complete envelope protection and prevents commands that exceed operational limits of the aircraft. Other key highlights on the 450 include the highly-advanced Rockwell Collins ProLine Fusion Avionics, top-rated customer service and support (#1 Pro Pilot Product Support Survey – 2015), reduced cost with increased fuel efficiency, and a 99% dispatch rate.

Legacy 450 owners can also enjoy a variety of cabin configurations, floor plans, and customizable materials. The ergonomically designed cabin features a variety of finishes to incorporate simplicity, transparency, light colors, while innovative interior materials such as stone flooring and counters in wet areas create unique solutions for aircraft owners.
