Aircraft > Heavy Jet

The Gulfstream G450 is a designation for the model GIV-X, which gained its FAA certifications late in the summer of 2004.

Gulfstream G450 GIV-X

Gulfstream based the G450 on their renowned GIV/GIV-SP/G400, utilizing several upgrades from their new GV-SP model: a Honeywell-powered flight deck, electric generator, temperature and pressurization controls in the cabin. Additional improvements include an upgraded APU, and redesigned landing gear, wheels, and brakes.

Compared to the GIV, its fuselage is an extra foot in length, and has a relocated main door. The old RR Tay 611-8 engines are replaced by 611-8Cs with FADEC that increase range and payload, in addition to its aerodynamic improvements.

By the end of the G450’s production run in 2018, there are 365 deliveries, with a cost ranging between $15 million to $32 million.

Cabin

The cabin of Gulfstream luxury jets are renowned for sophistication and comfort. With a standing room height of 6’2″ and a width of 7’4″, there’s plenty of room to move throughout the G450’s interior. Seating includes fully reclining chairs or divans, and there are two bathrooms available at the front and rear of the aircraft. Additional features inside the G-450 fully include a full sized galley, and a large baggage compartment accessible mid-flight.

Performance

Upgraded Rolls Royce engines power the GIV-X, cruising at a maximum speed of Mach 0.88 while offering improved thrust, range, and fuel efficiency. All of this amounts to lower operating costs over its predecessor. The increased range of 4,350 nmi provides a luxurious & productive options for transcontinental and transoceanic routes.
