Bombardier redesigned the wing profile of the 5000/6000, and slapped two brand-new Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines above and behind them to create the 5500/6500, increasing the 6500’s maximum range to 6,600 nmi while reaching top speeds of Mach 0.90 (690 mph). These improvements also reduce fuel burn by 13% fuel burn while improving hot and short runway performance.

The all-new Bombardier Global 5500/6500 will also have redesigned interiors that incorporate cabin technology from the new 7500, offering passengers customizable comfort with seats able to turn and face any direction.

The 6500 will be released along side the 5500 in 2019, with upgraded avionics featuring both ADS-B-In and ADS-B-out for compatibility with future ATC systems.
