“If that charter plane leaves the ground for Casablanca and you’re not on it, you’ll regret it. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life.”

Chartering a private jet is the best way to arrive in Casablanca, skipping the long lines for commercial flights, and choosing the date & time of when you want to fly. You’ll also enjoy the most comfortable, secure, and stylish way to arrive. Here’s looking at you, kid.

Casablanca is the biggest city in Morocco home to more than 3 million people, including immigrants from all parts of Africa. It’s also the country’s commercial and trade, home to the Port of Casablanca, Morocco’s largest port.

Many executives charter across the Atlantic and Mediterranean for business, while luxury travelers are drawn to the allure created by the eponymous movie from 1942.

Did you know? The goodbye scene in “Casablanca” was actually shot at Van Nuys Airport (KVNY), the private jet hub of LA executives, Hollywood celebs, and VIP angelenos, and the airport’s iconic hanger from the scene is currently undergoing restorations.

The city is often overshadowed by the chich exoticism of Marrakech, the literary bohemianism of Tangier, and the medieval treasures of Fez. Still, Casablanca is better suited for the 21st century, trading in minarets and medieval street patterns for modern amenities.

However, many find it to be one of Morocco’s less endearing cities, with high congestion and a bit of culture shock. And a majority of the people here aren’t living the Casablancan dream — thousands upon thousands of rural Moroccans have fled the drought-ravaged interior of the city after struggling with higher costs of living, and the outskirts suffer from poverty and higher crime rates.

Still, the awe-inspiring Hassan II Mosque, the Morocco Mall, adventurous cuisine, busy day & nightlife, a variety of colonial architecture, and cultural influences are worth placing on your Moroccan itinerary.

History

The modern city of Casablanca was founded in the 10th Century BC and subsequently controlled by Phoenicians, Romans, and the Merenids as “Anfa” a strategic port city.  The Portuguese destroyed the port and rebuilt it under the name “Casa Branca”, however, the city was abandoned after an earthquake in 1755.

Its current name of Casablanca was given by Spanish traders who established shops there after the Moroccan sultan rebuilt the city as Daru l-Badya. The French took control of the city in 1907, and began construction of the Ville Nouvelle after naming it as a protectorate in 1912. Casablanca gained its independence with the rest of Morocco in 1956.

Today, Casablanca is Morocco’s largest city with a population of nearly 4 million people. Although it’s home to the world’s largest artificial port, there is no ferry service to/from the port, making private air charters all the more convenient.

Fertile lands create one of the agricultural centerpieces of Morocco, and one of its most important exports is phosphate. Other industries include a big fishing and fish canning market, including delicious Moroccan Sardines.

The city is also one of the most liberal and progressive in the nation, where designer labels are the norm and young Moroccans speak exclusively in French to each other.

Climate

After your private flight arrives in Casablanca, you’ll enjoy a sublime Mediterranean climate with warm summers, gentle winters, and moderate rainfall scattered throughout the year. Summers are incredible thanks to its location along the the west coast of the Atlantic, providing plenty of refreshing breezes. Summer temps range from 70°F) to 79°F, with a record high of nearly 105°F.

Despite sharing the same latitude with Shanghai and Atlanta, winters here are considerably warmer, with an average daytime temperature of around 55°F, compared to 40 °F in Shanghai, and and 43°F in Atlanta. For the most part, private jet travelers can visit Casablanca year-round without running into any significant weather issues.
