Scottsdale Airports for Private Charter Flights

Just 9 miles north of downtown, Scottsdale Airport (IATA: SCF, ICAO: KSDL, FAA LID: SDL) is the preferred choice for jet charters and business jets flying to the Scottsdale area, as there is no commercial commuter or airline service here, and is home to many of the corporate jets in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area – often referred to as the Valley of the Sun or the Salt River Valley.

(KSDL, SDL) Scottsdale Airport – Scottsdale, AZ

One of the busiest single-runway facilities in the nation, Scottsdale Airport (SDL) averages nearly 10,000 passengers annually. It’s single 8,249-foot asphalt runway accommodates private planes of almost any size, including regional airliners and VIP jets. Clearance, ground, and tower services are available from 6 am to 9 pm local time daily, and 3 FBOs are available for discrete arrivals & departures.

Noise complaints from surrounding neighborhoods began in 2004, with more than 15,000 complaints logged in 2005. Closing the airport is highly unlikely, however, due to federal grant assurances and the airport’s impact on the local economy.

Private Jet to Scottsdale, AZ

Private Jet Charters > United States > Arizona

Charter a private plane to Scottsdale, a city located in Arizona’s Maricopa County, best known for its spa resorts and golf courses, most notably the famous TPC Scottsdale. Named after its founder Winfield Scott in 1894, Scottsdale is considered to be part of the Greater Phoenix Metro Area and home to a population of nearly 250,000 residents.

The NY Times once described Scottsdale’s downtown area as “a desert version of Miami’s South Beach”, with “plenty of late night partying and a buzzing hotel scene”, lending credence to its slogan “The West’s Most Western Town”. Another one of the city’s nicknames is the “Beverly Hills of the Desert,” and Scottsdale offers plenty of opportunities for high-end debauchery.

There are several galleries, resorts, and golf courses, and is one of the wealthier parts of the Phoenix Metro Area. Both Old Town and Downtown area possess an array of bars, nightclubs, billiard halls, and trendy eateries, along with early 20th century buildings and 19th-century olive trees.

Upscale shopping is one of the primary attractions, including one of the biggest malls in the nation, the Fashion Square Mall. The galleries to the west of downtown offer upscale shopping and strolling, and display works from local and intentional artists.

Trails are available to the north, winding through a desertscape of hills, rock formations, and cacti known as McDowell Sonoran Preserve. Taliesin West is also nearby, the former home and studio of the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
