The event will being along the coast of Oregon around 9am PDT, and will continue across the country until finishing in South Carolina around 4pm EDT.

Air Charter Advisors can arrange aircraft rentals for private flights to several locations hosting viewing parties for the eclipse, and we can accommodate photographers, videographers and film crews interested in recording the event, including custom routing to extend your experience and gain the ultimate perspective.

Historic Occasion

This will mark the first time since 1979 that a total eclipse is visible from the mainland United States. The previous time a total solar eclipse took place across the continental US was nearly 100 years ago in June of 1918. This eclipse will offer an unprecedented viewing experience in the modern era, with more than 12 million people living beneath its path of totality, and more than 88 million within a day’s drive.

Tracking the Event

The path of the total eclipse will touch 14 states in total, while a partial eclipse will be visible in numerous surrounding states. Many cities lie within the center of its path, and will offer excellent viewing conditions, as well as a variety of viewing parties.

If you’re a professional photo or film crew looking to extend by event by flying along its path, we can arrange aircraft rentals factoring in your routing, crew members, equipment and any other concerns or requirements you may have. Our team can access anything from large turbo-prop planes to private jets of any size, providing unobstructed views from high above the clouds. Renting a private plane can extend your opportunity to capture the perfect shot, but you can’t outrun it — private planes travel at approximately 500 mph, while the Moon’s shadow moves across the Earth at more than 1,700 mph.
