We’ve arranged private flights to Tahiti from around the world; whether you’re flying from Europe, Asia or North America, we’ll arrange the perfect aircraft for your trip to Tahiti at the right price without sacrificing your comfort or safety.

Once your private planes arrives in Tahiti, you’re free to explore this lush, tropical paradise discovered by Captain James Cook back in 1769. No matter where you go, the island is high and mountainous with surrounding coral reefs due to countless centuries of volcanic activity.

Historians have concluded that Tahiti was originally settled by Polynesians sometime between 300 and 800 CE. The island would become part of the Kingdom of Tahiti until its annexation by France in 1880, when it became a French colony.

Private jet travelers will discover French to be the only official language on the island, although the Tahitian language (Reo Tahiti) is commonly spoken.

Tahiti itself is split into two parts; Tahiti Nui is the larger portion of the island where you’ll find the best luxury resorts, while the smaller, southeastern portion of Tahiti Iti offers Polynesian villages, lush jungles, incredible beaches and a variety of archaeological sites and caves for adventure lovers to explore.

Many of Tahiti’s beaches feature a slightly black hue from its volcanic origins. They can create some unique and interesting oceanscapes. La Plage de Maui’s pristine, pearly white sand and incredibly clear, warm waters contrast with its ebonized neighbors, making it one of the most visited spots on the island.

If you happen to be in Tahiti during its rainy season (November – April), then the Fautaua Waterfall is a must-see. The scenic hike to the falls is worth the trip alone, and the waterfall becomes more and more dramatic as rain continues to soak the island.

In addition to being the capital of Tahiti, the city of Papeete is the capital of the entire French Polynesian archipelago. Visitors can enjoy shopping, dining and relaxing in the capital of French imperial paradise, where warm tropical waters and delicious mixed cocktails are only a few steps away.

Foodies can check out the Municipal Market in Papeete for fresh fruits and fish, and there are numerous artisan crafters around Papeete with unique merchandise and art worth sifting through.

Daytrips to Mooera

The island of Moorea is Tahiti’s little sister, located just northwest of Papeete and known for its rugged terrain, lush jungles and the imposing figure of Magic Mountain.

Although the island is accessible by both ferry and plane, we recommend flying to the island to save time and make the most out of your trip. Once you’re there, you can trek to the top of Magic Mountain for beautiful views only available from the window seat of your private jet during your flight’s decent.

Moorea is also home to an incredible lagoon where private jet travelers can scuba and snorkel with black-tipped reef sharks, sting rays and hundreds of colorful fish. There’s also the Moorea Dolphin Center, where you can swim and interact with your favorite marine mammals.

If you’re planning on an overnight stay, there’s a variety of resorts lining the northern coast of the island around Temae Beach. In fact, the resorts of Moorea are so incredible that some visitors prefer booking here instead of Tahiti and other Society Islands.

Surfing in Tahiti

Bring your surfboard with you on your private jet – you might even have enough room in the cabin to give your board a fresh polish on the way there, too. Although it’s known as a big wave destination, Tahiti experiences two distinct surfing seasons, allowing both novice and expert surfers to take advantage of the island’s tropical swells.

Surfing at Teahupo?o in Tahiti

Surf spots including Papara, Papenoo and Taapuna are the best among beginning and intermediate surfers looking to feel out the waves. Looking for the ultimate wave? Teahupoo is located on Tahiti’s southwestern coast, and is undoubtedly the most challenging surf spot found on the island.

The Billabong Pro Surf Competition is hosted annually in Teahupoo, and the surf spot is frequently compared to Hawaii’s Pipeline, located on the North Shore of Oahu and featured in the movie “Blue Crush”. Winter provides the best waves for expert surfers (May – August), with powerful breaks crashing against Tahiti’s southern and southwestern shores creating waves up to 25 feet tall.

Beginners can hit the waters during the island’s summer (October – March) when the waves become less heavy as they pass reefs and atolls. This allows for less experienced surfers to stay closer to shore; hollow barrels are still out there for the taking if you’re paddling out for more of a challenge.

Luxury Hotels in Tahiti

The beach resorts found in Tahiti and surrounding areas of French Polynesia are world famous for their exclusivity and seclusion, cast far from the shores of the nearest continent, and hundreds of miles from other Polynesian islands such as Fiji, Tonga, and the Samoan Islands.
